With the major US indexes barely off double digits, any attempt to compare the current setup in equities to the dot.com bubble looks premature, if not outright invalid. That’s especially true of the Nasdaq, which in comparison to its prepubescent self, is now dominated by the most successful companies in the world. However, before we utterly write off the analogue, we think it is worth running through how, some twenty plus years ago, a series of events led to one of the largest equity bubbles in history.
